Dept. 10 Valve Pedals
Introducing Dept. 10
Brought to you by Blackstar’s R&D division responsible for blue-sky innovation and design, Dept. 10 are the most advanced valve pedals in the world.
Meticulously designed and engineered by a team of musicians for musicians. Choose from Boost, Dual Drive or Dual Distortion to help you craft your perfect tone.
Real Valve Tone
At the heart of each Dept. 10 pedal is an ECC83 triode valve, running at more than 200V internally like a valve amp, which allows them to deliver organic tone, dynamics and break up.
Cutting-edge Connectivity
Dual Drive and Dual Distortion include CabRig, our next-generation DSP speaker simulator that reproduces the sound and feel of a mic’d up guitar cab in incredible detail. Deep-dive using our free software and capture the incredible tones via low latency USB, XLR D.I. out or headphones.
The Duals are perfect for use as a valve interface for recording, or to seamlessly add valve tone and drive to your pedalboard, complete with built-in FX Loop.

Valve Recording Interface
Low latency USB audio connectivity, allows the Dual preamp pedals to operate as standalone valve interfaces/sound cards.
Simply plug direct to your laptop, desktop or tablet via USB and capture amazing valve tone.
CabRig™ DSP Speaker Simulator
CabRig uses state of the art digital processing to reproduce the sound and feel of a miked up guitar cab in incredible detail whilst overcoming many of the shortfallings of traditional IR's.
Over 250 mic and cab combinations can be saved into one of the three onboard slots. Each cab has a choice of mic type and axis, alongside room mics and master EQ.
Class-A Gain Stage
The Dept. 10 Boost is equivalent to adding two extra hot valve stages to your single channel amp.
Its low noise, Class-A design is responsive to touch and rich in second order harmonics and natural compression.
Patented ISF Tone Stack
Dept. 10 Dual Drive and Dual Distortion come equipped with an amp style EQ with our patented ISF (Infinite Shape Feature).
The ISF control allows you to infinitely adjust the response of the tone control network between any of the traditional voicings in a way that has never before been possible.
James-Baxandall Tone Stack
Dept. 10 Boost features the legendary passive James-Baxandall EQ stack which retains the true character of your tone.
It works beautifully with any amp and its open treble and powerful low-end allows you to tailor the boost to your exact requirement
It’s a great clean boost if you need a lift for solos, or if you want to hit the amp a little harder you can turn it up and get a nice natural distortion. I highly recommend it.

I honestly love this pedal so much. It sounded great right out of the box, and after having toured heavily with it, I can safely say it’s the perfect fit for me. It will definitely be a permanent feature on my pedal board from now on.
